Riot Doesn't Live Up To The Name

So, the first domino that fell didn't really fall eh?

Quote,

Serian MP Datuk Richard Riot Jaem is not crossing over to the Opposition. In fact, he has not even been approached. The talk in the last few days that he was crossing over was “speculative reporting,” he told a press conference here yesterday. - The Star

This news, of course The Star dou wan to lie la. But imagine how cool it is having RIOT for a surname. And then being THE ONE to trigger a domino effect that changes the political history of a country. I wish instead of Sitaun, my surname was something like ROCKAFELLA, STRONGMAN, HISTORY or something. Not that there's any problem with Sitaun. Sitaun is like the coolest name ever. Every chick wants a night of Sitaun (not the senior one la). A Sitaun can be a whiskey brand anytime and would cost like Rm1, 500 per 750 ml bottle in Carrefour. But it's sort of a freestyle name, a name which would work in whatever you do in life. Sitaun, the philanderer. Sitaun, the Nobel laureate. Sitaun, the Cardinal. See?

But a name like Riot is a name which is predestined to create riot. A person born Riot is born privileged and has the god given right to riot for good. Same with Rockafella and History. So to be a Riot and deny fate when it presents itself is a sin. It's in the bible. You guys doubt it because you guys don't read the bible. Don't doubt Sitaun, the Cardinal.

What does MSM stand for?

Simply MainStream Media, Google said. Before that, I hoped it was a deragotary term for the Malaysian mainstream media which includes The Star, Berita Harian, Utusan and NST. Something like, "Bitches of the Malaysian Authority". But that's BotMA, right?

Anyway, not all that's come out in the MSM or BotMA are crap. Columnists such as Marina Mahathir and Azmi Sharom do come out with really good pieces. Doesn't have to be anti-establishment but just simply good that they make sense so one could have something new to ponder upon, something "outside the box" to quote the trendy. Still they deserve the bashing they get. So, fuck you BotMA. Take this article by Dzof Azmi for instance.

Quote:

For fire, excitement, and sheer entertainment value, the best speeches during this election were those by the Opposition. Yes, the message and method of delivery should be taken separately, but it’s hard to ignore a talented speaker. You might shake your head at the message, but you smile and clap at how boldly it’s delivered.
Sometimes they sounded less like political speakers than stand up comedians. In one speech, de facto Parti Keadilan Rakyat head Anwar Ibrahim went through half a dozen different accents during an extended “routine” about ministers who couldn’t speak English. He could have just stated the fact in 10 seconds and correlated it with lowered standards in education, but it was more fun to hear him go on and on. At least it made the rain bearable.

(I know it is dated 16th of March, like a long time ago. But I'm no avid reader of The Star. Only surf their online portal when pieces of Azmi Sharom and MM are published)
And,

So they chose to appeal to common sense. If you don’t vote for us, they said, then we can’t represent you – we can’t parent you if you don’t let us. They just never made clear why the people should assume they needed parenting.

They also tried criticism. All talk and no substance, they said of the Opposition. Not grown up enough. Unfortunately, this sounded like a challenge at times: You think they’re so good, see-lah what they’ll do if you let them out into the real world.

Fuck you Dzof Azmi. I can curse freely as I am not grown up or matured as you would agree. Parenting? My parents respect my freedom to speak and curse, unhappy sometimes they may be. Most importantly, they work hard and live honestly only to see their tax money to be swindled by other "grown-ups". The real world is not money politics or rhetorics of racism, bitch.
When I was in highschool, I got to listen to a Penang punk band called Acid Rain. They had a song called "Utusan Malaysia". Catchy but not very complimentary. I don't like mohawks but I agreed with them then and more today. Yet, more and more people now wake up and find themselves thinking the same way as a punk band did in the 90's. And I don't think it has anything to do with the song. Maybe the reasons are "grown-ups" like chief lapdog, Wong Chun Wai, Dzof Azmi, Jocy Tan and co.

Being Left Out Of The Partyin' For Once

There were only possibly gonna be 2 possible outcomes come 8th of March, depending on the results of the GE. It was either gonna be a dissapointment day or a big big welcome party for a better future for a better governance based on fairness and integrity. While many Malaysians rejoice at the "dawn of a new beginning", as stipulated by DSAI (thank you), east Malaysians essentially provided a safety parachute for the establishment, which by the way only managed to slow down its descent to its eventual shambles. Shame on you I say. I just can't tolerate the fact that the once anti-BN UMNO state and people of Sabah have been bullied into a cowardly, master-fearing joke.
On the other hand, I hope Sabahans who played their part in this outcome enjoy the bounty soon given by the feds as a token of appreciation. If you guys don't get it, well, pick up a wrapped newspaper and smack yourself in the head. But do have at least a tiny weeny bit of regret for letting this happen. Learn this lesson : Next time there's a party, do not hesitate to cross the road.

When General Election Comes

I don't find myself out of place when I think that politicians aren't made up of the crop. It's almost trendy to be cynical and harsh on politicians, especially the malaysian ones. The feeling is so intense, I had troubles distinguishing a lemur and the bloke from Kinabatangan. I hope the latter shares the former's the same problem,- extinction.
I'm not gonna vote, because I can't, because I'm simply not gonna be there. My e-mail to Musa asking for a two way ticket as an exchange for a vote for his party went unentertained. So my vote isn't worth RM 4,500 huh? This is certainly worthy of a vengeance! Now where's my Guy Fawkes mask..
I wonder what good can come out of the election. I certainly hope the opposition win. I'm gonna be dissapointed if they don't. Maybe a bit less, if they better 2004. At first I thought, from the mischief and abuse of power by the government so far, a perfect storm would occur. It seems so unlikely now. But then, maybe the people just simply deserve what they get. And in turn, the country deserves what the people have chosen for her.
"Kräht der Hahn auf dem Mist, ändert sich's Wetter oder 's bleibt wie's ist"
Perhaps the loud are insignificant?
Maybe on Saturday evening there will be a ray of hope. I simply can't comprehend status quo. My prospects may well rely on the outcome. Damn, if I could just vote...

Man United Update

This season, Manchester United is still as good as great. That's the only thing that matters.
